Sleeping Over at Uni.

Monday, September 26, 2011

So last day of school,
the Friday night before the weekend preceding the holidays
Normal teenagers went to parties,
Socializing
Travelling places, even.

While all this merry-making over the sudden freedom from the chains of University and school is going on...
Holed up in the most magical arcitectual learning space Adelaide has ever known...

Was two very bad time-managers.
Both who go by the name of 'Rebekah'.
Having left crucial assignments to the last moment
They were forced to pull the dreaded all nighter camp out,
to complete the assignments that followed them into the holidays.

Killer pythons to keep us alive...

Oh...Phanton of The 'Learning Hub'..

We slept in a pool of FatBoy bean bags... for about two hours after 6am...

So i finished my work and so slowly filled up the wall with origami made from the pages of the Uni's magazine On Dit...

Not all assignments were completed sadly.

Amy Meredith

i posted this while ago but: NEW DEVELOPMENT!!!
They commented on my wall post to them.....FREAKING AMAZING.

SO:
I got introduced to a new band this week.
Aussie band called Amy meredith! and they are super cool!

Anyways, they had a free live show last night!!
Me and a bunch of YSA buds decided to go and it was super fun! Live bands!!!
It was awesome and a bit creepy though, cause it was in a bar thing, so i actual had to use my ID and stuff to get in! An adventure i never thought i would have lol!

And because they arent really huge yet, I GOT TO MEET THEM :D
Well, sorta i met my favourite guitarist and said hello to the drummer, but still
JEEPERS CREEPERS!!

For those of you who dont know them listen to this, one of my favourite songs.

Listen to 'Lying' too! Favourites!!
They were so close!

Joel the guitarists, one of my favs!

And this was for my other fav, the lead singer!! But too bad!

YSA peeps, minus the Josh's!! looking lovely and out of place :D
Jess and her friend got to go back stage and score the drumsticks off the drummer! Jealous!

Fun times :)

Letters to Juliets.

Thursday, September 8, 2011

SO i have this theory:

In every group of people there are 'Romeo's' and 'Juliet's'.
These people are the people that have everything going for them, and everyone can easily see that apart from one person: Them.

I know many Juliets. Most of them are my very dear close friends. But since moving to Adelaide, my lifestyle has skyrocketed in business.
Because of this, and the great amounts of distance between my friends and I, I have not been able to support them as I should.
Lately, this guilt has caught up with me so bad, so to remedy this I've done the best thing i could think of:

I've written letters to the Juliets :).

One Juliet's letter can be read about here.

Snail mail is the best and most convient way to touch and brighten somebody's day.

SO:

For all you bloggers out there: Put it on paper and share the happiness of the Snail Mail craze!

The Adelaide Show!

So it had to be done- ten days of listening to fireworks, putting up with slow traffic and people walking around with over-sized stuffed toys and show bags. So i went to the show!!
AND it was HUGE!
Views from the ferris wheel!

I went with some most beloved friends:

Beloved? Did i say beloved?
Well now,
Everything was great to begin with:
i went and visited Jubilee and animal shows...

Ate lollies....

Had bubble gun fights....

 made new friends...

Along with a bunch of other cool adventures! BUT
the dreaded secret was discovered, and the rest of the day was spent like this:

I was wrestled, by my so-called beloved friends, kicking and screaming onto terrifying rickety rides that literally exhausted me by completely overloading me with terror!

I did cry a little bit on this one...

This was my 'aww wish i was short right now' face

Beloved friends fulfilling their deathwish, one i could run fast enough away from to evade their insistant commands to ride it.
I did get my revenge though:
You wanted to hold my hand on the ride? Fine: ILL CRUSH IT!! *i was just terrified i didnt realise i was holding on so tightly...
May or may not have damaged a hand or two with my death-grip

Despite living in fear of these rides, im half glad they wrestled me onto it regardless of my streaming eyes, screams and fruitless escape attempts - its all experience and im tougher for it, and it was fun sometimes...

The day ended with being splattered with dirt and mud while watching the Hilux stunt drivers, and then the lovely ending under the fireworks :)

On a side note to end this post: My beloved friend Mitch (the blonde terror out of the 'beloved' terrible two) went on his mission to New Zealand yesterday! What a great person :). Till we meet again Twinny!

Melbourne Road Trip!

Monday, August 29, 2011

Yep! You heard right!
This weekend past, i went on a road trip with Bekah, Millie and Jessii to go visit a Adelaide escapee, Hannah. Friday morning at 6.30am we set off, with Maccas brekkie on the road, copious amounts of sleeping, pit stops to play on a seriously cool playground (it had a ROLLERCOASTER!) and to get our junk food fix.
I had to get my drugs fix too cause spent the whole weekend in a mad spout of hayfever/cold/flu thing. So annoying! lol

Just a Rollercoaster? Heck no! Surfing!

About to go for a ride!

Freaking out at every Melbourne sign thinking we were close, though eight hours later we were still on the road ;)
So we finally made it to Hannahs house after much detouring and sudden scenic tours. Freshened up to go out to dinner-epic burgers!-and to meet some of her YSA friends. Which was AWESOME. Best bunch of people ever! So i was totally under the impression from stories people passed around and from my own TFY Melbourne experience that Melbourne was - to be blunt- seed central! But Im so terribly glad that i was proved to be seriosuly wrong, its quite great! Reminded me muchly of home (Tassie) <3.
Butterscoth Malt goodness!

Dinner at delicious Burger restaurant!
So because we were quite hyper after dinner, we ended up dancing out front of Jordan's house before joining the YSA population and meeting people.

Milli Rocking out
(so this video you cant really see anything and is not really worth watching, but if you do the rando white blurs that appear are dancing adelaide girls! lol)

So spent a simply gorgeous evening with Melbourne YSA, such a friendly bunch, like it was so comfortable so there was seriously no chance at all to crack the shys, which i was grateful for! lol We played this game called 'Signs' which is SO addictive but just as fun as it is addictive! I learnt that they are quite the talented bunch! Fluent french speakers, mean as guitarists and pianists not to mention amazing singing voices. What a gorgeous night, it still sets me smiling! Unfortunately, i did not film any of this though i sincerely wish i did! Good memories!
Anyhow, got home late and as a result slept till 11am on the saturday, got up, french toast for brekkie made by the beautiful and talented Hannah of whom had to go to work sadly! So the rest of us literally spent the whole of saturday afternoon taking photos:

That night we went out for a combined birthday dinner with some old friends of Bekah's and the Bloys: We went to T.G.I. Friday! DELICIOUS TO SAY THE LEAST. I espesh loved how for one of the meals they brought out this mass tower with the chicken still sizzling on it!

After, we went for hang outs at Mitchs house (mitch is in the previous piccy far right), which was totally awesome! Played fun games, but of course, we were again simply spoilt by all the lovely musical talent on display! I was wonderstruck majority of the evening! lol I suspect the poor fellows mustve gotten mildly creeped out by my dreamy expression as they played near the end! Hilarious, but oh so good!

(if you watch this one, please excuse my hideous laughter and random inputs throughout, and you have to turn the sound RIGHT up!!)

Sunday morning, we headed off to church absolutely exhausted, but excited (well i was= Love love love ward hopping) at the same time. I think the ward was called Mornington ward and it was oh so good! Adored the talks, adored the YSA discussion in sunday school. The afternoon was spent napping, cleaning, for me:journal writing and then inviting two seriously cool kids over that we had met, Jordan and Jess. Those boys are so fun! We had icecream, oreo face races and played 'Ive never' and just laughed the afternoon away!(corny as that sounds lol) LOVE IT!!

(Check out these skills: Epic 3x Malteaser Distant mouth catch!)

We then packed, left Hannahs place (did i mention its this gorgeous decrepit old surfy house like 500m from the beach?), headed to Mitchs for tea, then a very uplifting fireside on 'Choosing the Right'. Some very talented and guided speakers :). My arm is like stained from all the notes i wrote on there throughout, so much goodness! Social butterflying, goodbyes, piccys infront of the Melbourne Temple and atlast home time! Longest drive home ever, but Oh what a Weekend! This post, though huge, is only a taste of the grand adventure! Thank you Radelaide girls and Melbourne! :D

Still to come: Roadtrip Melbourne Vlog! :D
